Hailey 2.0 Character Concept

Giving into Peer Pressure Hailey underwent procedure to turn her into a machine. She was extremely apprehensive at first, after all it was a revolutionary new procedure but after many of her friends had it done: Trinity, Nora and Elliana she decided it was time for her to be upgraded as well.

As per her request Hailey was made into a sports bot, since that was what she exceled at. She now has a super thin super lightweight aerodynamic body optimized for speed and agility. She is so trimmed down that her body is basically just a big battery, engine and a brain, with no other accessories. Her Arms and legs are nothing more than supports for her high performance engines located in all of her joints. Her springs give her a great deal more power and work well with her high friction shoes which give her many times the traction she used to have. Also the Hair on the back of her head might seem like drag but it actually acts like a counter balance and rudder. She can likewise extend or retract the ball into her head as needed. Her hair also helps act as a rudder helping her steer when she gets up to some extreme speeds, it’s also a bit stylish.

So far Hailey likes being a machine. She can run many times faster than she could before and is much lighter and more agile. She doesn’t have to eat and anytime she has a sports related injury she can just swap out the part for a new one. But she can’t help but wonder a little what she might have lost by becoming one.

Setting

It might seem strange for a normal person to want to be a machine but Hailey’s ancestors, and those of her people, were in fact machines. Their ancestors having been forced to assume flesh and blood form to escape a plague (something like EMP Burst) that was only affecting machines. With the plague long sense gone and a way found to turn them back into machines they can once again become what they had always been. But after a century of being flesh and blood, there is much apprehension in there society about becoming machines again.

There is a lot to this setting and story and I am not really sure when I will have time to develop it further. I have a lot of other things I want to work on but it’s something I definitely want to return to in the future.
